Frequently Asked Questions

  • A consultation call is a free 30-minute phone call where we discuss your goals for therapy and what you are looking for in a therapist. We can also assess if we are a good fit! You are welcome to bring any questions you have into this conversation. We can also discuss logistics, such as if you would like to meet in-person, virtually, or hybrid, payment, scheduling, etc.

  • Yes! Paperwork will need to be filled out prior to the first appointment - I will send these forms to you once we have concluded our free consult call. Typically, this will include an informed consent, HIPAA consent, Good Faith Estimate (GFE), and background form.

  • The first session is called an “intake,” as this is where important information will be gathered. During the intake, we will go over completed paperwork and then proceed with the session. I will ask questions to learn more about you!

  • I use Ivy Pay, a HIPAA-compliant application that securely captures payment information. Once we have set this up together, I can simply press “charge” after each session and we should be good!

  • Our first 6-12 sessions should be weekly in order for us to get to know each other and establish rapport. After that, we can assess whether sessions can be spaced out or not; this will be dependent on how you are doing in therapy.

  • Growing up, I witnessed the mental health struggles of my Asian-American friends while also experiencing my own share of turbulent times. As I progressed throughout my education and clinical training, I observed the lack of culturally competent care and the scarcity of AAPI mental health providers. I seek not only to provide representation for my ethnicity within these professions, but also strive to provide a safe space for exploring cultural factors and experiences.

  • Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by psychology and sought to understand the motivations behind people’s thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This curiosity, combined with personal experiences, a natural role as the support person within my friend groups, and a desire to be of service to others, led me to pursue and attain a B.S. Neurobiology at University of Texas at Austin, an M.D. at UT Southwestern, and later, an M.A. in Professional Counseling at Texas State University. I’m committed to continually learning - not only to better support my clients, but also to nurture my own sense of curiosity and growth. I believe that therapy is one of the most empowering and life-changing experiences a person can have, and I’m honored to walk alongside you on that journey.
