People of color (AAPI & BIPOC)

You’ve never quite felt comfortable in spaces where there wasn’t much representation of your ethnicity. You’ve been “othered” before, which makes you feel dehumanized and isolated. You’ve encountered various types of racism, ranging from microaggressions to overt aggression. You’re afraid to take up space for fear of disrupting the status quo. You might be feeling overwhelmed by the pressure and weight of expectations. You may be a child of an immigrant or an immigrant yourself. You’ve struggled with being caught between cultures and are confused on which values to honor. You may be dealing with family conflict and the effects of intergenerational trauma.

Stack of postcards, letters, photos, and books, reminiscent of immigrants sending letters back to their home countries. Therapy specialized for Asian, Asian-Americans, BIPOC, and children of immigrants who want to break the cycle.

We can work together on…

  • Clarifying what is most important to you from your cultural background

  • Exploring your racial and/or ethnic identity

  • Coping with culture shock and other challenges of adjusting to a new culture after immigration

  • Finding your voice

  • Improving your self-esteem and confidence

  • Navigating complicated family dynamics from childhood & understanding how these may be affecting your relationships today

  • Untangling the threads of intergenerational trauma

I would like to help you feel seen, heard, and validated.

Growing up as a 2nd-generation Asian-American in an ethnically diverse population throughout my education, I saw friends and classmates immobilized by the immense pressure to perform from our immigrant parents, intergenerational trauma, and the stings of microaggressions. Furthermore, the mental health stigma prevented them from seeking out help.

I want to do my part to help change that culture.

I would like to help you learn how to advocate for yourself and honor your cultural identity in a way that feels right for you.
